Staff Accountant
Our client is seeking a motivated professional to join their Finance Team to perform a range of accounting tasks for three reporting entities in General Ledger and Reporting, to include monthly close tasks, journal entries, account reconciliations, comparative analyses, fixed asset work, inventory support, audit support, and tax workpaper preparation.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Monthly Close, General Ledger, Account Reconciliations, and Payables
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and adjustment entries as part of the monthly and year-end close processes for multiple reporting entities.
• Review third-party distributor monthly activity and reports. Analyze, prepare and post the activity to the accounting system.
• Identify and set up fixed assets. Retire assets as needed. Prepare monthly fixed asset and depreciation entries and reports.
• Prepare typical monthly general ledger account reconciliations for multiple reporting entities.
• Prepare customized intercompany reconciliations and sub-rights sales account reconciliations.
• Review overhead expenses and provide detailed analyses for multiple reporting entities.
• Maintain T/E, promotion, and other customized spending trackers.
• Assist with cash flow reporting.
• Work closely with the Finance Manager to process and complete the monthly close.
• Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare multiple entity financial statements for parent company in the UK, in accordance with GAAP
Miscellaneous:
• Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare year-end audit schedules.
• Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare tax workpapers.
• Special ad-hoc projects.
Required Experience and Skills:
• Minimum of two years of experience in corporate accounting, working on the close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit support.
• Bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in accounting.
• Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Extremely organized, strongly attentive to detail, deadline driven, and able to multi-task and prioritize workflows.
• Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enjoys working on a collaborative team.
