Communications Specialist
Location: California, San Francisco
Duration: 12 months
Pay: $34.48/hr DOE
Communications Specialist Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, including in a communications capacity
- Experience working with members of the press
- Knowledge and experience in building and executing campaigns that drive favorable press and social attention
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with follow through to get things done
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive self-starter with a track record of taking initiative
- Positive, resilient mindset – eager to learn, improve, and develop and uphold best practices, while staying level-headed under pressure
- Support the internal team in trust and safety-related responses to press requests and news, and proactive communications campaigns
- Identify opportunities to create and drive news, in support of communications goals
- Develop internal and external written materials: messaging, Q&As, briefings, reports, presentations, talking points, story pitches etc.
- Provide organizational support to the team
- Partner with cross functional team members on initiatives that help protect the business and strengthen the company’s reputation
