Job Title: Mechanical/General Superintendent

Pay Rate: $65/hour - $75/hour (ST for OT)
Contract Duration: 1 year
Work Schedule: Onsite (M-F) (50 hours a week MAX)

Summary
The Mechanical / General Superintendent will lead field execution for a large-scale construction project on a waste-to-energy plant. This role is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, piping, and civil/structural construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. The Superintendent will play a critical leadership role in coordinating subcontractors, driving productivity, and maintaining alignment with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall field leadership for mechanical, piping, and civil/structural scopes of work
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily construction activities across multiple disciplines
• Manage and direct subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedule, safety standards, and quality expectations
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and client representatives to ensure seamless execution
• Develop and maintain short-interval schedules and lookahead plans (2–6 weeks)
• Identify and proactively resolve field issues, including constructability challenges and resource constraints
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; promote a strong safety culture on-site
• Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget targets
• Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure proper execution
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities as required
• Support cost control efforts by tracking labor, equipment, and material usage
• Maintain clear and consistent field reporting, including daily logs and progress updates
• Lead field meetings, including subcontractor coordination and safety meetings

• 10+ years of construction experience, with significant field leadership on large industrial projects
• Strong background in mechanical systems, piping, and civil/structural construction
• Experience on energy, power generation, or industrial processing projects (waste-to-energy experience preferred)
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex scopes of work
• Deep understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field execution strategies
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and OSHA compliance
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced, high-value project environment

• Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects
• Background in boiler systems, turbines, or industrial plant construction
• Familiarity with commissioning and startup processes

• Full-time, on-site role at a large industrial construction site
• May require extended hours, weekends, and travel depending on project needs
