Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Construction Manager
Location: Conshohocken, PA 19428
Contract length: 9-month Contract
Pay: $55/hr - $66/hr
Assistant Construction Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field from an accredited curriculum
- Experience in Electric Utilities Transmission, Distribution or Substation construction project management experience preferred, including management of cross functional project management coordination, cost and schedule
- Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contacts on project-related matters
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Professional Engineering (PE) is a plus but not mandatory
- Vet the initial scope of a Project and develop from initiation, develop a project work plan with support and coordination between all supporting functional areas, including Engineering & Client Stakeholders
- Work with Engineering to refine scope requirement and develop project execution plan constructability consideration incorporated
- Coordinate environmental and non-environmental permitting requirements and rights acquisition requirements
- Develop RFP packages for construction bid events, including written scopes of work, baseline schedules, and permitting packages
- Evaluate contractor bids and recommend award to Client
- Facilitate Pre-Construction and regular progress meetings
- Drive schedule and project progress during construction, oftentimes on-site
- Support of Project Development activities, including development of baseline schedules, cost estimates, and budget forecasts
- Develop rapport with construction team through on-site meetings and regular meetings/phone calls
- Meet regularly with Scheduler to update & maintain detailed P6 project schedules
- Maintain and be accountable for project budget and financial forecast updates
- Navigate client computer programs for financial updates, contract management, and project documentation
- Report regularly to the Lead Project Manager and Client on construction progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions, potential impacts, and any issues requiring home office support
- Maintain clear lines of communication and relationships between project site, project office and clients
- 80/20 office field to support constructability review, walkdowns, and on-site meeting with the client
