Work Hours: Day: 7 AM – 7 PM, Rotating 2/2/3 schedule and Night: 7 PM – 7 AM, Rotating 2/2/3 schedule

The Planet Group is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a growing company in the environmental services and recycling industry. Qualified candidates must have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience within an industrial environment, along with preventive maintenance, breakdown repair, and equipment reliability skills with Apply now for immediate consideration.
Job Description
- Ensure plant equipment, building systems, and operations are safe and functioning properly.
- Maintain and improve the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Plan, organize, and execute maintenance tasks, repairs, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.
- Implement engineering changes and assist with new equipment installations or modifications.
- Coordinate planned downtime with production leadership for cleanings and changeovers.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and OEM partners for repairs and projects.
- Monitor and manage critical spare parts inventory; predict part needs based on usage and performance.
- Track equipment performance data and ensure all work is documented in the CMMS.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational Industrial Maintenance program or 4+ years of experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with preventive maintenance and equipment repair experience.
- Electrical maintenance skills (PLC maintenance, no programming) and troubleshooting of sensors, VFDs, conveyors, grinders, boilers, etc.
- Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Forklift and boom lift operation capability; ability to work at heights.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and task prioritization.
- Comfortable in hot, noisy, open-air environments with strong odors.
- Welding knowledge a plus; proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel preferred.
- Ability to train junior technicians and work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule with overtime.
- Must report all injuries immediately per company policy.
