Description:
  • Project management of internal engineering design teams, previous experience performing enginering design (schematics, power one lines, wiring diagrams). Utility space ideally. Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients. PMP or Professional Engineer preferred. Electrical Engineering or similar degree required. 7+ years of experience, ideally in engineering consulting, electric utilities, or telecommunication providers.
  • Ensure that the project review process and other quality control guidelines are followed.
  • Provide managerial direction and work assignments to telecommunication & network engineering project managers.
  • Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
  • Provide performance feedback to department managers for project team members as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight and judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, and related activities.
  • Write articles and/or make conference presentations for marketing purposes.
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience in design engineering, including 3 years or more project management
  • Previous consulting engineering experience is preferred. An advanced degree and/or professional designations (Professional Engineer license) are desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop business and establish relationships with clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Demonstrated success in project management.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
