Job Description

Role title: Digital Content Specialist - Magento
Pay rate: $28/hr

Primary responsibilities:
  • Migrate site content from our current e-commerce platform (Miva) to Magento 2.4 via large spreadsheet imports and direct work in the Magento 2 ecommerce system.
  • Rebuild category and other landing pages via Magento 2 Pagebuilder.
  • Assist with other migration related projects to ensure site functions properly.
  • SEO page maintenance to improve site experience and performance (repair 404s; fill in missing and incorrect Meta content and Alt tags; enhance structured data; rebuild existing 301 redirects in new platform, etc.
  • Assist with clean-up tasks and get heavily involved in testing/QA of the site before launch. 

Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience of content management in Magento platform
  • Experience creating Magento 2 content (products and landing pages)
  • Experience with Magento 2 import / export functionality 
  • Preferred but not required: experience using the uRapidFlow import/export extension for Magento
  • General understanding of HTML & awareness of how CSS impacts page design
  • Magento PageBuilder experience 
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Basic proficiency to edit product photography in Photoshop 
  • Helpful but not required: past participation in ecommerce website migrations  

Role title: Digital Content Specialist, Contractor
Budget: Pay rate of $28/hr
Duration: The position will be a temporary, contract position. Related to current projects, a 6-month contract is required.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Migrate site content from our current e-commerce platform (Miva) to Magento 2.4 via large spreadsheet imports and direct work in the Magento 2 ecommerce system.
  • Rebuild category and other landing pages via Magento 2 Pagebuilder.
  • Assist with other migration related projects to ensure site functions properly.
  • SEO page maintenance to improve site experience and performance (repair 404s; fill in missing and incorrect Meta content and Alt tags; enhance structured data; rebuild existing 301 redirects in new platform, etc.
  • Assist with clean-up tasks and get heavily involved in testing/QA of the site before launch. 
Candidate questions that may aid the vetting process:
  1. Do you have experience creating and managing product pages in Magento 2?
  2. Have you created other landing page content in Magento 2 (category and other info or promotional pages)?
  3. Do you have a basic knowledge and experience using HTLM tagging structure?
  4. Have you worked with large Excel files with multiple data fields?
  5. Have you used the native import / export functionality in Magento 2? What about the RapidFlow extension that integrates with Magento and is used as an alternative way to import content into Magento 2? Have you built product imports using RapidFlow import spreadsheets?
  6. Are you familiar building all product page types in Magento 2 (simple, configurable, custom option fields, etc)?
  7. Are you familiar working with product attributes and attribute sets in Magento?
  8. Have you built landing pages using Magento’s Page Builder? Have you created Blocks used to build/style landing pages?
  9. Do you have basic knowledge of Photoshop to accomplish simple photo editing and image resizing?
  10. Have you worked on a website migration project before? Participated in site QA to verify successful migration and launch?
