SampleManager v21 Solution Architect / Technical Lead - Contract - Remote (US) - Minimal Travel
Well-known consultancy seeks a LIMS SampleManager v21 Solution Architect / Technical Lead to step into an in-flight project for a regulated consumer goods organization. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in SampleManager LIMS v21 as a Solutions Architect and Technical lead, with hands-on build and configuration experience. Additional experience requires exposure to environmental monitoring (EM), microbiology testing workflows, regulated/GxP delivery, and technical team leadership. The ideal candidate will have been through multiple SampleManager LIMS projects from beginning to end. Opportunity offers a long-term contract with likely extensions.

Benefits:

  • Pay Range W2: $80-$85/hr max; C2C: $90-$100/hr max
  • Work Arrangement Remote (US-based strongly preferred)
  • Duration 6 months (extension likely; expected engagement at least through end of 2026 with strong likelihood through go-live in June 2027)

Responsibilities:
Lab Systems Architecture & LIMS Delivery
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the technical approach and overall implementation plan
  • Translate business architecture and functional requirements into scalable technical designs
  • Provide technical leadership across configuration cycles and drive key project milestones
SampleManager Configuration, Modules & Integrations
  • Lead solution configuration using primarily out-of-the-box SampleManager v21 LIMS capabilities.
  • Support configuration for Environmental Monitoring (EM) functionality and Micro Testing capabilities supporting EM samples.
  • Oversee multi-phase configurations across planned cycles, ensuring readiness for each cycle deliverable
Validation/Compliance (GxP / 21 CFR Part 11)
  • Partner with validation and testing leads to ensure solution quality and compliance expectations are met
  • Align technical deliverables to regulated-environment quality standards and documentation needs
Production Support/Upgrades/Continuous Improvement
  • Support an active implementation already in progress and ramp quickly with minimal transition time
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities during delivery and handoffs
  • People/Delivery Leadership
  • Lead and manage day-to-day work for a technical team of ~4-6 resources
  • Assign technical tasks, review deliverables, and coach the team toward high-quality outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts to complete technical deliverables and resolve requirements/design questions

Requirements:
  • Hands-on SampleManager v21 LIMS experience (solution architecture and configuration)
  • Experience delivering solutions in regulated environments (life sciences/pharma/regulated consumer goods or similar)
  • End-to-end LIMS implementation experience, including multi-phase configuration cycles
  • Environmental Monitoring (EM) workflow experience
  • Microbiology testing workflow experience
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team (approximately 4-6 people) in a delivery environment
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate clearly with stakeholders
  • Familiarity with validation processes and quality standards in regulated industries
Desired Requirements:
  • Associate Manager / Manager-level consulting or delivery background on enterprise implementations
  • Experience joining projects mid-stream and stabilizing delivery quickly in an in-flight configuration cycle
