Financial Analyst
6 months contract 
Onsite - Albany, NY
Pay: 48/hr - 52/hr  (DOE)

The Planet Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented finance professional to support financial planning, analysis, and control activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, along with experience working in manufacturing and/or R&D environments. This role requires hands-on analytical capabilities, proficiency with financial systems, and the ability to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for planning and control
  • Perform technical financial analysis to evaluate present and future performance
  • Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for:
    • Financial plans
    • Acquisition activities
    • Forecasting and trending future requirements
  • Support operating forecasts and financial planning processes
  • Conduct economic research and studies, including:
    • Rates of return
    • Depreciation analysis
    • Working capital requirements
    • Investment opportunities and performance
    • Impact of governmental requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or finance-related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Experience in R&D and/or manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in budgeting and forecasting
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with financial tools and systems, including:
    • SAP (Finance Module)
    • Oracle EPM (Financial/Corporate Planning)
    • Workday
  • Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and interpretation
