Job DescriptionGrace is looking for Process/Project Engineer to join our dynamic team.
The Process/Project Engineer will have responsibility for improving plant processes and providing engineering support for maintenance, EH&S, and operations. The individual will also have responsibility for supervising capital projects and contractor workforces associated with these projects.
The Process/Project Engineer is on site in Chattanooga, TN and reports to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities- Provide process and quality support and troubleshooting for plant processes.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement projects with emphasis on manufacturing cost reduction, capacity improvements/cycle time reductions, energy and waste reductions, and process reliability.
- BFD, PFD, Mass & Energy Balance, process and equipment documentation, and P&ID preparation and updates for new and existing processes.
- Participate in Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, and Root Cause Investigations.
- Provide engineering, estimating, bidding and supervising capital projects.
- Has financial responsibility for assigned capital projects.
- Able to use DCS and historians to obtain data as needed to support above tasks.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- BS in Engineering field, preferably Chemical or Mechanical
- 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years' experience in project management
- Aptitude and experience in distributive control systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels within the organization
- Adept at training others
- Able to distill complex information and present clearly
- Organized and detail oriented, particularly with regard to maintaining records
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and SAP.
- Ability to work safely in a chemical plant environment and work with / on typical chemical process equipment
