Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to join a stable and growing engineering organization supporting industrial process and thermal systems projects. The role offers the chance to work on highly visible engineering initiatives involving process design, equipment sizing, instrumentation selection, and technical documentation development.
The Process Engineer will support projects throughout the full lifecycle by creating and maintaining P&IDs, reviewing process calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to support equipment selection and system design. This position also plays a key role in developing engineering standards, improving internal workflows, and supporting product development initiatives.
Candidates with experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D are highly preferred; however, candidates with experience using similar P&ID or process design software are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain detailed P&IDs throughout the project lifecycle
- Review process calculations and equipment sizing documentation
- Support equipment and instrumentation selection activities
- Prepare technical documentation including data sheets, functional descriptions, and utility consumption lists
- Assist with sizing and selection of pumps, fans, valves, burners, and related process equipment
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support project execution
- Help develop engineering standards, procedures, and process improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering workflow optimization
- Participate in new product and system design efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of Process Engineering experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering environment
- Experience developing and maintaining P&IDs
- Familiarity with process calculations and equipment sizing
- Experience with process design or CAD software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar platforms
- Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles preferred
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create technical reports, charts, and engineering documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional engineering teams
- Experience working with instrumentation or field monitoring devices is a plus
