Job Title: Area Manager
Location: Lithia Springs, GA
Contract length: 6 months
Schedule: Fulltime
Pay: $1,520/week to $1,731/week

Job Overview:
The Area Manager is responsible for the execution and performance of all activities and personnel related to shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material flow within their assigned area or shift. You are accountable for delivering safe, efficient, and compliant operations while developing a culture that reflects their values, standards, core competencies, and behaviors. You will lead through people, process, and performance, ensuring that operational goals are met through clear expectations, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement. Four key areas you will always focus on are safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity for your department/area.

Responsibilities:

  • Own safety performance for the assigned area/shift, always ensuring a safe and compliant work environment
  • Review forecasts and align labor plans to meet daily, weekly, and monthly operational objectives
  •  Lead daily shift execution, balancing labor and workflow to meet productivity, quality, and delivery targets
  • Ensure operations run according to standard work while meeting service commitments and deadlines
  •  Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities
  •  Ensure associates are properly trained and capable of meeting operational and customer requirements
  •  Lead, coach, and hold Team Leads and hourly associates accountable to performance and behavioral standards
  •  Ensure materials are received from approved vendors, accurately transacted into inventory, processed to specification, and shipped on time
  • Deliver quality objectives while operating within budget and labor expectations
  • Manage inventory control processes to ensure accountability, accuracy, and traceability of materials and finished goods
  • Establish clear and consistent communication with teams to align priorities, expectations, and daily execution
  •  Establish, reinforce, and improve operational methods and procedures as needed
  • Recommend changes to processes, policies, or workflows to improve operational effectiveness
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports that reflect performance, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with peer Area Managers, senior leadership, and cross-functional partners to resolve issues and ensure continuity across shifts
  • Manage and sustain product traceability systems using WMS/Oracle to support customer and quality requirements
  • Ensure equipment inspections, housekeeping, and work environment standards are maintained
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading hourly teams
  • Demonstrated ownership of safety, productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes
  • Experience with inventory control and distribution operations
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse and shipping environments
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Oracle or comparable Supply Chain/Logistics systems
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Job Environment:
  • Warehouse environment. Incumbent will walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 40 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, weekends, and overtime as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
