Location  Birmingham AL 35218
Pay range $ 48-54 per hour (DOE)
 3 year Contract

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Lighting Sales Representative to be  responsible for driving sales strategy and revenue growth for lighting products and solutions. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and delivering consultative, energy-efficient lighting solutions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional with deep industry knowledge and a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.


Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients; identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Business Development: Identify, target, and secure new clients and market opportunities
  • Consultative Sales: Develop and present customized lighting solutions aligned with client goals, budgets, and energy-efficiency requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of lighting products, including LED systems, fixtures, controls, and emerging technologies
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations and clearly communicate technical concepts and value propositions
  • Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals including pricing, specifications, and project timelines
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to successfully close deals and meet revenue targets
  • Order & Project Coordination: Oversee order processing, delivery, and installation to ensure client satisfaction
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior sales team members as needed
  • Networking: Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build relationships and generate leads
  • Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and market insights

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 10-15 years of experience in lighting sales or a related industry
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of lighting products, energy-efficient solutions, and market trends
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tracking tools
  • Willingness to travel as needed
