Art Director
Location: Hybrid onsite schedule in CUL, CUP or NYC
Schedule: 40 hours
Duration: 12 months
Pay: $115-$125 DOE

The Planet Group is looking for an Art Director to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 6-months contract, working a hybrid onsite schedule in CUL, CUP or NYC.

Art Director | Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of relevant experience as a designer working with data-driven content at an agency, design studio, or media company; editorial experience is a plus.
• Outstanding portfolio demonstrating a range of formats, applications, and client work.
• Experience in reporting, data gathering, and translating information into clear, narrative-driven visuals.
• Comfortable collaborating with journalists, editors, engineers, data scientists, animators, and technologists.
• Strong proficiency in graphic design, typography, and illustration.
• Experience with D3, Processing, or similar tools and libraries.
• Experience prototyping ideas within a development environment.
• Deep understanding of how information design translates across platforms, media, and technologies.
• Knowledge of current trends in infographics, charting, and visual storytelling.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles, including the role of motion in storytelling.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work across time zones.
• Experience in brand design, social media, or environmental graphics is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while presenting polished solutions to a broader creative team.
• 7+ years of relevant design or creative experience; experience in publishing, magazines, or content platforms is a plus.

• Comfortable working within a global team across time zones and varied schedules.
• In this role, you will partner with creative leads to produce innovative and inspiring infographics and data visualizations aligned with creative briefs. You will also proactively contribute to upcoming editorial initiatives.
