HVAC Technician
Location: Paris, TX area
Pay Range: $28-34 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician II to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of commercial and industrial HVAC systems at a large manufacturing facility. This role focuses on preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, with an emphasis on safety, system performance, and clear communication.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast?paced, team?oriented environment and has hands-on experience troubleshooting a variety of HVAC systems. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a technician who takes pride in their work and values consistency, professionalism, and technical growth.
Key Responsibilities- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and performance monitoring of HVAC and HVACR systems
- Service and support systems including ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAV systems, ventilation equipment, and DDC controls
- Monitor and respond to system performance through Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Read and interpret sequences of operation, control drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals
- Safely operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging systems, and diagnostic gauges
- Braze refrigerant lines and lubricate mechanical components such as motors, fans, and linkages
- Conduct routine inspections and rounds, recording system readings and performance data
- Diagnose system issues, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions
- Clearly communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders
- Complete service documentation accurately and only after confirming work quality and satisfaction
- Maintain detailed logs including:
- Equipment operation and lubrication
- Filter, belt, and spare parts inventory
- Air pressure differential readings across filters and coils
- Refrigerant usage and inventory
- Water treatment and chemical usage
- Use CMMS tools to document work, track assets, and support preventive maintenance planning
- Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Order and restock parts, supplies, and materials as needed
- Assist with larger repairs and general facility maintenance
- Coordinate with planners and schedulers to improve maintenance programs
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies
- Attend manufacturer training and complete required certifications
- Complete timesheets and required documentation accurately and on time
- Perform other assigned duties as needed
- Follow all OSHA guidelines and site-specific safety policies
- Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) prior to performing work
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials
- Maintain awareness of emergency equipment locations and procedures
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- HVAC technical certification or state-recognized HVAC training preferred
Experience
- Previous experience working on commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver's license required
- EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification required
- Strong understanding of HVACR systems, components, and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues independently
- Proficient with standard hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with BMS and CMMS platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with solid documentation habits
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
