Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) – (Perm) – Hawaii – Onsite with Hybrid potential
Hawaii healthcare system seeks a permanent Epic Client Systems Administrator with the ability to install, configure, maintain, and support the Epic EMR infrastructure, while ensuring secure and efficient access to desktop, mobile, and virtual platforms. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years’ experience with server and data infrastructure technologies, ideally in a hospital environment. Opportunity is open to local Hawaii candidates who would have the ability to come onsite as required. This role offers generous base compensation along with strong benefits/vacation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and senior-level infrastructure support for assigned systems.
  • Recommends, develops, and ensures implementation of sound practices/solutions for infrastructure issues.
  • Oversees collection of data from performance and uptime monitoring tools; reports findings to management for review.
  • Provides technical expertise in diagnosing and resolving infrastructure hardware and data center software issues.
  • Stays current on emerging technologies; recommends solutions aligned to trends to maintain/improve efficient data center operations.
  • Serves as the senior-level escalation point for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Monitors, analyzes, leads, and provides oversight for planning activities to ensure adequate capacity, availability, and effective use of current technologies.
  • Designs, plans, and implements advanced technical solutions.
  • Interacts and negotiates with vendors/outsourcers/contractors to secure system-related products and services; conducts research to support recommendations, justification, and purchasing efforts.
  • Work is not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Participates in 24/7 support coverage as required, including on-call and weekend work for monthly downtime (Sunday/second Sunday each month) and upgrades (February and August).

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology (IT) field or related field.
    May substitute 4+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Current certification in at least one of the following is preferred:
    • MCSE: Server Infrastructure
    • VMware Certified Implementation Expert
    • MCSD: Application Lifecycle Management
    • Other MCSE certifications
  • In addition to the educational requirement, 6+ years of experience with server and data center infrastructure technologies.
    • Expert understanding of Windows OS/servers, failover clustering, and server hardware.
    • Expert knowledge of VMware ESXi.
    • Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows/Linux, and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
      Experience with Microsoft services (Exchange, SQL Server) and Windows Server OS (2008, 2012).
    • Extensive experience with core software applications.
    • Excellent software troubleshooting experience.
    • Extensive application support experience.
  • Working technical knowledge of current software protocols and internet standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems/applications and related products.
  • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management/best practices.
  • Ability to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
