Automation Engineer
Location: Hybrid onsite in Culver City or Cupertino, CA
Schedule: 40 hours
Duration: 12 months
Pay: $78-$80 DOE
The Planet Group is looking for an Automation Engineer to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 5-months contract, working a hybrid onsite schedule in Culver City or Cupertino, CA
Automation Engineer | Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in **PHP** for backend development (Laravel or Symfony experience a plus) and Python
- Strong experience with **React.js**, including hooks, component lifecycle, and state management
- Working knowledge of **Python** for scripting, automation, or backend services
- Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization
- Experience with RESTful API design and consumption
- Familiarity with version control using Git
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI
- Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
Automation Engineer | Description:
- As part of the Automation Team, you will independently design and develop AI based intelligent automation solutions in line with requirements provided by the Product team
- Develop test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts for both existing functionality and new features.
- Contribute to multiple initiatives, balancing new feature development with documentation and on-time delivery.
- Communicate status and progress in a timely manner, including sprint review reports, presentations, and planning demos for new features and MVPs.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and cross-functional meetings to strengthen collaboration within and across teams.
