Job Description
| The Benefits Manager helps to design, implement and oversee the administration of Health & Welfare and retirement plans and programs. Ensure legal compliance of all plans and oversee audit requests. Work closely with consultants, vendors, Legal, HRBP's and the Benefits staff in the administration and evaluation of benefit plans and programs. | |||

| 1. | 25 % | Y | Drive competitiveness of Health & Welfare and Retirement programs, by monitoring best practices, and designing new programs and plan changes to respond to the marketplace, regulatory requirements, and company objectives. Analyze metrics around claims activity, participant behavior, and program effectiveness to create strategies regarding the future selection and design of new and existing plans. Partner with internal stakeholders (HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Wellness, Talent & Culture, and Talent Acquisition) to ensure plans align to business objectives. |
| 2. | 25 % | Y | Manage the administration of benefits plans and programs in accordance with plan documentation including medical, dental, vision, retirement, voluntary benefits, and clinical programs. Oversee leave administration to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Company policies. |
| 3. | 20 % | Y | Manage and maintain relationships with benefit plan business partners. Lead and/or oversee project management on major change initiatives and RFPs. Assist in reviewing and assessing contracts and established service level agreements to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. |
| 4. | 10 % | Y | Ensure all plans are in compliance with Federal, State and local benefits laws and regulations, including IRS code, ERISA compliance and audit requirements. Oversee the preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and other regulatory agencies. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and report necessary or suggested changes to the Benefits Director. |
| 5. | 5 % | Y | Assist with managing annual Health & Welfare budget with the goal of controlling/reducing costs of the overall benefits budget. |
| 6. | 5 % | Y | Manage the communication of plan changes to the associate population. This will include a comprehensive communication plan that reaches associates through a variety of mediums. Utilize team to effectively conduct employee meetings across all shifts as needed. Ensure all legal plan documents are updated. |
| 7. | 5 % | Y | Supervise the performance & development of members of the benefits team. Provide consultation to staff, as needed, on application of rules and regulations. Oversee the consistent application of all policies, procedures and regulations. |
| 8. | 5 % | Y | Manage escalated benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution. |
| Education: Bachelor's degree required. | |||
| Experience: 8+ years experience managing benefits administration. | |||
| Knowledge and Skills: -Must understand regulations governing benefit programs (ERISA, PPACA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, etc.). -Strong project management skills. -Experience with leveraging technology to solve business needs/problems (Microsoft Office, Benefit Portals, Government Filing websites, etc.). -Ability to handle sensitive and confidential topics with a high degree of professionalism. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Pay range is $45-50/hr based on experience. |
