Job Description:
The Planet Group is seeking Senior Analyst of Organic Search to bring advanced analytical expertise and strategic vision to a high-performing SEO marketing team. In this high-impact role, you’ll measure and optimize visibility across traditional search engines and next-generation discovery channels—including GenAI platforms such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of SEO and serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the broader SEO team. You will play a key role in shaping both day-to-day execution and long-term strategy by connecting organic performance, brand reputation, and evolving search behaviors to measurable business outcomes.
The ideal candidate is passionate about SEO, experienced in analytics and measurement frameworks, and thrives in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
SEO Analytics & Reporting
- Own SEO analytics and performance measurement across multiple digital properties
- Build, refine, and QA dashboards that connect rankings, visibility, and traffic using tools such as Power BI, Google Search Console, and Adobe Analytics
- Identify performance trends and provide actionable recommendations to drive growth in organic search
- Support ongoing reporting needs, including Monthly Operating Reports (MORs) and pre-funnel traffic analysis
- Leverage Adobe Analytics and other tools to uncover on-site behavior trends
- Partner with SEO, content, and UX teams to deliver data-driven recommendations
- Ensure accuracy of SEO tagging, tracking, and data integrity across analytics platforms
- Analyze competitor performance and industry trends; present insights through clear data visualizations
- Develop and maintain SEO valuation models that connect organic performance to business impact
- Inform prioritization of SEO initiatives through data-backed frameworks
- Partner with Paid Media, Media Economics, and Web Analytics teams to align SEO with broader marketing strategy
- Support cross-channel planning by integrating organic search insights into performance measurement
- Collaborate on AI-readiness initiatives, analyzing how GenAI search and social platforms (e.g., Reddit, TikTok, YouTube) influence visibility, sentiment, and conversions
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to monitor share of voice and evolving search behaviors
- Evaluate and integrate additional tools (e.g., Ahrefs, PageSpeed Insights) to enhance reporting and technical performance
- Lead deep-dive analyses and support experimentation to improve SEO performance across traditional and AI-driven search
Preferred Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience in SEO analytics, organic growth, or digital marketing analytics, preferably in a complex or enterprise environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
- Experience with Adobe Analytics strongly preferred
- Proficiency with web analytics and SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, and/or Python for data analysis is a plus
- Solid understanding of SEO ranking factors, search algorithms, and performance measurement
- Experience in data-intensive industries such as financial services, e-commerce, insurance, or SaaS preferred
