Job Description

Controller:

 Financial Management

  • Insist upon accuracy, precision, and timeliness in all financial data
  • Actively manage the cash flow of the company
  • Create and review with the CFO and CEO financial reports every two weeks.
  • Control the company’s lines of credit with our banks
  • Assist the Leadership Team in elevating the importance and mandatory nature of tight and timely fiscal management in the minds of all employees
  • Work with the department heads to review their profitability on a monthly basis
  • Track and report department-level budget vs. actual spend
  • Close the books monthly by the 15th of each month
Statistical Compilation and Analysis
  • Create and compile the necessary statistics to manage the company on a regular basis
  • Think creatively about what statistics we need and how to measure them.
  • Work with the department heads to create department-specific statistics
Controlling Critical and Confidential Information
  • Be aware of confidential data, including employee pay rates, and help to make sure it stays that way
  • Be aware of confidential issues and help to make sure those stay that way
  • Ability to manage financial information without bias
Position Requirements:
  • Meets regularly with Leadership to update/advise on status of financial information, long term planning, budgeting, and company goal setting
  • Constant review and management of accounts receivable
  • Monthly reporting of financials and review with CFO and CEO
  • Track Job costing and profitability
  • Liaison with the Accountants
  • Assist with decisions on major purchases and financing options
  • Timely calculation and approval of project profitability bonuses
  • Tool Allowance and Employee mileage reimbursement summaries and accounting
Insurance Administration:
  • Back-up contact for workers compensation claims
  • Insurance administration life, automobile, workers compensation, liability (including annual audits, census for renewals, self-billing of life insurance) and key-man insurance
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounting Staff including mentoring and performance reviews
Bookkeeping:
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Accounting entry of client invoices
  • Bank deposits
  • Employee Cooperative Individual Capital Accounts administration
  • Taxes
  • Salary range is 95-125k based on accounting experience and whether the candidate has construction industry
