Salary range: $180,000-200,000K DOE
Must have:
Bachelors degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred)
7+ years in an Accounting/Finance leadership position
CPA
Quickbooks, Sage or comparable accounting software
Experience working for companies with $20-50M revenue
Nice to have:
Nonprofit industry experience
IRS form 990
Position Overview
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. This leader will play a key role in evaluating financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring the organization maintains strong financial controls and compliance standards. This is a fully on-site role in Boston.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and insurance renewals
- Lead financial reporting and provide updates to governing members and financial institutions as needed
- Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, planning, and budgeting processes
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis to evaluate performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Manage and mentor a small accounting/finance team, setting goals and ensuring accountability
- Oversee the annual audit process with external auditors and ensure completion of required filings including IRS Form 990 and DOL Form LM-2
- Maintain financial systems and internal controls aligned with Department of Labor best practices for labor unions
- Analyze revenue and spending trends and recommend solutions to improve financial performance
- Support contract negotiations with third-party vendors and financial partners
