Social Media Specialist
Location: Remote, working EST
Schedule: 35 hours, 9-5pm
Length: 3 Month Contract
Pay Range: $35 - $38/hour DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join one of our leading mental healthcare clients.
Social Media Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, media studies, communications or related field
- 2-4 years of professional work experience in a marketing and communications department of a complex organization; editorial and/or public relations experience in a nonprofit mental health, health, or human services organization a plus
- 2-4 years of experience managing and publishing content on public-facing social media channels, websites and other digital properties
- Experience managing multiple social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X
- Experience creating social media content and messaging, with a focus on addressing sensitive, complex and timely subject matter
- Proficiency with social media management tools, content management systems, and digital analytics
- Strong familiarity with digital fundraising materials and messaging
- Strong creative skills, especially writing/editorial and graphic design
- Knowledge of digital marketing best practices, SEO, SEM
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Interest in mental health and suicide prevention
- Strong understanding of digital communities and online trends
- Bilingual Spanish and English a bonus
- Support social media properties, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter/X for multiple programs, including the 988 Lifeline and Disaster Distress Helpline
- Create optimized digital content for all social media channels, including written content, graphics, videos, and digital ads
- Create and post social media campaigns and messaging in support of public messaging strategies, mental health and suicide prevention resources, and events
- Ensure that all social media content adheres to each program’s branding, tone, voice, and subject matter
- Support the implementation and dissemination of mental health and suicide prevention best practices in the digital space
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and implement them to enhance our social media presence
- Work with the Development Team to help support strategies for raising online revenue
- Track metrics, create reports, and recommend digital communications strategies based on goals
- Help advance company mission through sharing stories and content to illustrate the mission
- Support the Communications Team’s activities with partners, vendors, and other programs and departments
- Create and post timely social media messages in response to breaking news and events
- Attend conferences and events as necessary
