Gas Construction Manager
Location: Armada Township, MI
Contract: 4 months
Schedule: 40 Hours
Pay: $55-$58/hour, DOE

The Planet Group is looking for a Gas Construction Manager to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on an 8-month contract, working an onsite schedule from Armada Township, MI.

Gas Construction Manager | Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of the Michigan Gas Safety Code
  • Working knowledge of Federal 49 CFR Part 192 gas facilities standards
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience
  • Hands-on experience with gas facilities construction
  • Strong knowledge of gas utility field operations
  • Experience with equipment operations
  • Proven conflict management skills
  • Effective record management and documentation abilities
  • Ability to manage teams and measure performance
  • Skilled in negotiation
Gas Construction Manager | Responsibilities: 
  • Facilitates pre-construction meeting emphasizing safety and communicates any schedule or construction recommendations with PM.
  • Oversees pre-fab and onsite construction - monitors project safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
  • Reports progress daily to the PM.
  • Supervises contract inspectors and resolves issues including material, construction and scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinates the testing and start-up of installed equipment, develops punch list and obtains signoff of the turnover check list from the Field Leader (FL).
  • Assists PM in providing O&M manuals and asset lists (form 300) to the responsible parties.
  • Ensures as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering.
  • Emergency plan redlines are turned over to Records Management, Engineering, Field Operations and Gas Control with acknowledgement of receipt from Gas Control prior to in-service.
  • Compile and submit close out documentation consistent to standard format provided by PM.
