The Process Engineer serves as a key technical resource for the production units, helping troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and strengthen operational discipline while maintaining a strong presence on the plant floor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on with operations and wants the ability to influence improvements in a facility where new ideas and initiative are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Process Compliance

  • Maintain strong field engagement to reinforce safe operating practices and process discipline.

  • Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and risk assessments.

  • Assist in incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

  • Maintain and update key process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and relief system data.

  • Identify potential process safety risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Operations Support

  • Build strong working relationships with operators and supervisors through consistent plant-floor interaction.

  • Translate engineering concepts into practical guidance that supports day-to-day operations.

  • Review operational data, logbooks, alarm history, and trends to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and support during upsets or unplanned events.

Process Optimization

  • Monitor key performance indicators such as yield, energy consumption, throughput, and raw material efficiency.

  • Analyze operational data to identify root causes of chronic issues and implement improvements.

  • Partner with subject matter experts to strengthen operating procedures and performance standards.

  • Support the effective use of automation and control systems to improve plant performance.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams to address operational challenges.

  • Provide technical leadership on projects focused on process control, reliability improvements, and production efficiency.

  • Encourage collaboration and open communication across plant teams to support long-term operational success.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required.

  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, or heavy manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Solid understanding of process safety, environmental compliance, and industrial operations.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and plant operations personnel.

What Success Looks Like
  • Improved process performance, yields, and operating efficiency.

  • Strong working relationships with plant operations and maintenance teams.

  • Visible contributions to process safety, reliability, and production stability.

  • Implementation of practical improvements that support both immediate operational needs and long-term plant performance.
