The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist with a background in civil and heavy industrial project with a background in auditing.
- Large-scale energy industries and wind energy development - all involve potentially hazardous working conditions, equipment, and materials.
- .Review, evaluate, and analyze workplaces as well as design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury to employees.
- Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.
- Ordering suspension of activities that pose threats to workers’ health and safety
- Investigating workplace accidents to identify causes and determine how such accidents can be avoided in the future
- Recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
- Inspecting or evaluating workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Demonstrating the use of safety equipment
- Minimum of 5-10 years direct hands-on related safety experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Knowledge of federal and state safety, fire protection and OSHA laws and Minerals Management Service (MMS) requirements.
- Full knowledge of fire protection standards.
- Full knowledge of hazardous material/chemical management and transportation. Knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling and surveying techniques.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good public speaking/presentation skills.
