Job Description

Title - Administrative Assistant
Location:  Huntersville, NC
Pay Range:23-23.28 per hour
Contract - 3 years

 

The Planet Group is seeking an Administrative Specialist III-Nuclear to provide advanced administrative support and leadership within a nuclear power facility, serving as a subject matter expert and mentor to other administrative staff.

This role combines comprehensive department support with leadership duties, cross-functional coordination, and specialized expertise.

The Senior Administrative Specialist works across department boundaries, leads cross-training initiatives, and serves as a key resource for complex administrative challenges.



Responsibilities

  •  Uses software applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.
  • Depending upon the organization, may prepare and update functional reports or records requiring compilation of information from multiple sources; may maintain plant records as required
  •  Receives, screens, and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail, and e-mail
  • Maintains files and calendars
  • Responsible for arranging business travel, coordinating meeting arrangements, and tracking expenses
  • Manage supply ordering, inventory management, and vendor coordination with increased autonomy
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Provide administrative support to multiple managers across the department
  • Coordinate complex scheduling and meeting logistics
  •  Serve as a mentor and resource to other administrative specialists across the station
  • Lead cross-training initiatives to ensure administrative coverage during vacancies and absences
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for administrative functions
  •  Provide guidance and support to less experienced administrative staff
  • Work seamlessly across department boundaries to support station-wide administrative needs
  • Fill in for other department admins during vacancies and absences, including complex assignments
  • Collaborate with administrative staff on station-level events, meetings, and activities
  •  Serve as liaison between departments for administrative matters
  • High School Diploma (HSD) or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Professional Certifications or License

Preferred Work Experience
  • 7+ years of related work experience with demonstrated leadership in administrative roles


Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
  •  Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise, and effective manner
  • •Ability to effectively interface with multiple individuals across departments, e.g., managers, supervisors, employees
  •  Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with changing conditions
  •  Demonstrated leadership ability and experience mentoring or training others
  •  Experience in nuclear power or other highly regulated industries
  •  Familiarity with training and qualification tracking systems
  • Experience with document control, procedure management, and quality assurance processes
  • Knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and inventory management systems
