Job Description
Our client is looking to hire an Epic Cadence/Prelude Program Manager (Patient Access) to join their team for a full time, perm role located on site/Hybrid in Washington DC. Location: DC Metro (must be local to Northern VA or Southern/Central MD)
A leading pediatric health system is seeking an Epic Cadence/Prelude Program Manager to support the Patient Access / Revenue Cycle workstream as part of a large-scale Cerner-to-Epic conversion. This role will partner closely with Patient Access leadership and key program stakeholders to manage cross-functional projects that connect scheduling, registration, and referrals into broader Epic modules and enterprise initiatives.
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000/yr + Hybrid on site in Washington, DC
Qualifications
- Cetified in Epic Cadence, Prelude or Referrals (Epic Cadence certification required/preferred)
- Experience: 2+ years of related program/project management experience (healthcare IT / rev cycle preferred)
- Strong understanding of Patient Access workflows (scheduling, registration, referrals) and how they integrate across Epic and Revenue Cycle
Required / Preferred Epic Certifications:
- Epic Cadence Certification required
- Epic Prelude (preferred)
- Epic Referrals (preferred)
- Epic Grand Central (preferred)
Background: Transitioning from Cerner to Epic and onboarding key resources to support the implementation.
Program & Project Leadership
- Lead program planning and execution for Patient Access initiatives tied to the Epic implementation (Cadence/Prelude-focused).
- Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and ownership assignments across teams.
- Drive day-to-day program operations, remove blockers, and escalate risks/issues appropriately.
- Coordinate work across Revenue Cycle and related Epic modules to ensure integrated design and successful delivery.
Operational & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Patient Access, operational leaders, and technical teams to define priorities, align on scope, and maintain momentum.
- Identify operational barriers, analyze root causes, and develop action plans to resolve issues.
- Support change management efforts by engaging stakeholders and sustaining commitment throughout the transition.
Budget / Performance Support
- Assist with operating and capital budget planning documentation and projections.
- Monitor performance reporting and help address variances, discrepancies, and operational impacts.
- Evaluate trends (including reimbursement/denials where applicable) and support action plans to improve outcomes.
Safety & Quality Mindset
- Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and accountability.
- Ensure clear, timely communication and attention to detail in decision-making and documentation
Logistics:
- Location: DC Metro (must be local to Northern VA or Southern/Central MD)
- Work Model: Hybrid/Onsite as needed (local required)
- Timeline: Multi-year Epic implementation | Target Go-Live: 2027
- Ability to work in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment supporting a multi-year implementation
