Job Description:
The Reconciliation Analyst will join the Investment Operations Shared Services team and support the reconciliation of invested assets across a variety of investment products, including public equity, investment-grade and high-yield debt, structured credit (MBS/CMO), private credit, bank loans, and derivatives.
Working closely with team members and the Manager, the Analyst will be responsible for supporting daily team deliverables, resolving reconciliation exceptions, maintaining strong operational controls, and meeting established service-level requirements. The role will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall process effectiveness.
Responsibilities- Review aging reconciliation reports to validate outstanding exceptions and follow up with owners on items that exceed established thresholds.
- Monitor and ensure timely resolution of reconciliation exceptions, providing regular status updates to the Lead and escalating issues as needed.
- Review outstanding cash and holdings reconciliation items for potential material impact and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure cash and holdings reconciliation breaks have appropriate supporting documentation for each monthly close.
- Manage internal and external service-level requirements efficiently and effectively.
- Keep Leads and team members informed of work progress, issues, and potential delays to help ensure deadlines are met.
- Complete all work thoroughly and accurately prior to submitting it for review.
- Review existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
- Promptly escalate issues, delays, or other concerns related to assigned responsibilities to the Lead.
- Participate in additional daily activities and projects as directed by the Lead or Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Investment Operations.
- Working knowledge of various investment strategies and financial products.
- Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and business functions.
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with BlackRock Aladdin and SimCorp Dimension is preferred but not required.
