Join a growing healthcare-focused Workday consulting practice as a senior HCM functional leader. This role will lead net-new Workday implementations and optimization initiatives, while helping establish healthcare-specific configuration standards and best practices.
You'll serve as a trusted client advisor, lead solution design and tenant configuration, provide knowledge transfer, mentor consultants, and support the continued growth of the Workday practice.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Workday Implementation Leadership: Own the functional architecture and configuration of new Workday HCM deployments, establishing scalable organizational structures, supervisory organizations, and foundational tenant design for complex healthcare environments.
- Optimization & Transformation: Assess existing Workday environments to uncover configuration gaps, inefficient processes, and opportunities to better leverage native functionality. Develop and execute practical improvement plans that increase system effectiveness and business value.
- Healthcare Solution Development: Establish reusable configuration standards and healthcare-focused solution frameworks covering areas such as position management, clinical credentialing, workforce scheduling, and other provider-specific processes.
- Solution Governance: Act as the senior functional authority for HCM solution design, reviewing and approving technical documentation and configuration decisions. Ensure implementations follow Workday methodology, sound design principles, and applicable healthcare compliance requirements.
- Client Partnership & Knowledge Transfer: Serve as the senior HCM advisor throughout engagements, working closely with client leadership and HRIS teams. Provide hands-on knowledge transfer, training, and guidance to enable clients to independently support their Workday environment following deployment.
- Practice Leadership: Mentor consultants, contribute to internal Workday capabilities, support solution development, and participate in sales and client-facing activities as the healthcare practice grows.
Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered.
- 5+ years of HRIS/ERP experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration.
- Demonstrated leadership across 4+ complete Workday HCM implementations or significant multi-module optimization initiatives.
- Current Workday HCM Core certification; an expired certification may be considered if eligible for renewal.
- Strong healthcare HRIS experience, particularly with provider environments, Position Management, clinical credentialing, 24/7 workforce models, and healthcare payroll considerations.
- Advanced knowledge of Workday business processes, security, reporting, and tenant configuration, including Matrix and Composite reporting.
- Hands-on EIB experience required; Workday Studio experience is a plus.
- Experience with Workday Accelerate/Launch implementation methodologies and complex organizational structures, including multi-company environments and M&A activity.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to engage executive stakeholders, facilitate requirements discussions, and explain technical solutions in business-focused terms.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline.
Nice-to-have skills that would make a candidate more competitive but are not required.
- Additional Workday certifications in Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent, or Performance.
- Experience developing repeatable implementation methodologies, configuration standards, or healthcare-specific Workday playbooks.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring consultants and contributing to business development or sales efforts.
