Job Title: Data Project Coordinator
Location: Chicago IL
Onsite Requirements: 3 days onsite
Compensation Range: $35-40/hr

Introduction
Our client is seeking a Data Project Coordinator to support a large-scale data transformation program. This role will coordinate day-to-day project execution and provide clear visibility into milestones, dependencies, risks, and key decisions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple data, engineering, governance, and platform teams.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Maintain integrated project plans, milestone calendars, action items, and recurring project cadences.
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas, pre-reads, notes, and follow-up activities across multiple teams.
  • Track risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions, ensuring clear ownership and deadlines.
  • Prepare concise project status updates highlighting progress, upcoming milestones, risks, and required decisions.
  • Coordinate project documentation, access requests, governance activities, transition tasks, and delivery artifacts.
  • Support capacity tracking, team onboarding, and vendor coordination as the program expands.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience coordinating technology, data, analytics, or software delivery projects involving multiple contributors.
  • Strong organizational, follow-through, meeting facilitation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining project plans, RAID logs, action items, decisions, and project documentation.
  • Working knowledge of project delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to understand project dependencies, identify risks, and escalate issues without serving as the technical decision-maker.
  • Self-driven and curious, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and quickly develop knowledge of new tools and business domains.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working within an enterprise data platform or data transformation environment.
  • Experience coordinating vendor activities, governance processes, or access-management initiatives.
