Job Description

Are you an experienced Fire Protection Technician looking to join a team that plays a critical role in life safety and facility operations? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a professional maintenance environment supporting essential fire and life-safety systems. You'll be responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting a variety of fire protection equipment while helping ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational.

This position offers hands-on work, strong technical exposure, and the opportunity to grow your expertise across multiple fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire protection and fire alarm systems
  • Service fire extinguishers and support sprinkler and related life-safety equipment maintenance
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance
  • Assist with minor repairs and ongoing maintenance of fire protection equipment
  • Respond to service calls and diagnose system issues in a timely manner
  • Complete work orders, inspection reports, and documentation accurately and on schedule
  • Build positive relationships with customers through professional communication and follow-up
  • Participate in an after-hours emergency response rotation as required
  • Support additional facility life-safety initiatives and maintenance projects as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Trade school, vocational training, or related technical education preferred
  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II certification preferred, or Level I with the ability to obtain Level II
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 20, NFPA 92, and NFPA 291
  • Experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting fire protection systems
  • Backflow certification preferred
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 75 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
