Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Fire Protection Technician looking to join a team that plays a critical role in life safety and facility operations? This is an excellent opportunity to work within a professional maintenance environment supporting essential fire and life-safety systems. You'll be responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting a variety of fire protection equipment while helping ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational.
This position offers hands-on work, strong technical exposure, and the opportunity to grow your expertise across multiple fire protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on fire protection and fire alarm systems
- Service fire extinguishers and support sprinkler and related life-safety equipment maintenance
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and regulatory compliance
- Assist with minor repairs and ongoing maintenance of fire protection equipment
- Respond to service calls and diagnose system issues in a timely manner
- Complete work orders, inspection reports, and documentation accurately and on schedule
- Build positive relationships with customers through professional communication and follow-up
- Participate in an after-hours emergency response rotation as required
- Support additional facility life-safety initiatives and maintenance projects as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Trade school, vocational training, or related technical education preferred
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II certification preferred, or Level I with the ability to obtain Level II
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 72, NFPA 25, NFPA 20, NFPA 92, and NFPA 291
- Experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting fire protection systems
- Backflow certification preferred
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, procedures, and safety requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to regularly lift up to 75 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
