Solution Design Lead - Oracle ERP Distribution & Business Transformation

The Solution Design Lead is a senior functional leader responsible for driving the end-to-end business process transformation across the Oracle ERP program. Rather than focusing on a single functional area, this person owns the horizontal view of the business--ensuring Finance, Distribution, Procurement, Inventory, Order Management, and other business functions work together as one integrated operating model.

This is not a technical architecture role. The ideal candidate is a business transformation leader with extensive Oracle ERP experience who understands how wholesale distribution businesses operate from procurement through order fulfillment, inventory, shipping, invoicing, and financial close.

The Solution Design Lead will facilitate cross-functional workshops, challenge legacy processes, identify upstream and downstream impacts, and guide stakeholders toward standardized Oracle best practices while minimizing customization. This individual must be comfortable influencing senior business leaders, asking difficult questions, and driving consensus across departments that have traditionally operated in silos.

This is a highly visible role supporting the organization's enterprise-wide Oracle Fusion transformation and will work closely with the Deputy CFO, Finance leadership, Distribution leadership, Product Owners, SMEs, and implementation partners.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide business process transformation across Finance, Distribution, Procurement, Order Management, Inventory, and related functions.
  • Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to document current-state processes and design future-state workflows.
  • Drive end-to-end process mapping from purchasing through order fulfillment, inventory management, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Challenge existing business processes and recommend improvements aligned with Oracle Fusion best practices.
  • Ensure individual functional designs fit together into one cohesive enterprise solution.
  • Resolve conflicts between business groups and drive alignment across Finance, Distribution, Operations, and IT.
  • Govern solution design standards while limiting unnecessary Oracle customization.
  • Work closely with Oracle functional consultants, business analysts, SMEs, and technical teams throughout design and implementation.
  • Guide leadership through design decisions by explaining downstream impacts and tradeoffs.
  • Support testing strategy, change management, training, and organizational adoption.
  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the ERP transformation program.

Must-Haves
  • 10+ years leading large-scale ERP implementations and enterprise business transformation initiatives, with significant Oracle Fusion/Cloud experience.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end process transformation and solution design across Finance, Distribution, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Inventory.
  • Strong experience with current-state/future-state process mapping, process optimization, and enterprise standardization.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect processes across functions and identify upstream/downstream impacts and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional workshops and aligning business stakeholders, SMEs, and functional teams around future-state processes.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle standard functionality and best practices, with the ability to balance business needs against customization.
  • Highly proactive problem solver and business transformation leader who investigates root causes and drives issues through resolution.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change in complex wholesale distribution, publishing, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Publishing or media industry experience.
  • Experience leading enterprise process transformation programs.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation leadership.
  • Experience with warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, or fulfillment.
  • Background working closely with Finance organizations.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management.
  • Previous consulting experience combined with significant in-house business leadership.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or business process improvement certifications.
