Associate Global Sourcing Manager
Location: San Diego, CA Hybrid
Length: TBD
Pay: $38/hr - $43/hr (DOE)

Essential Job Functions
  • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts, with emphasis on company interests.
  • Prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Travel to work with vendors and manufacturers and attend appropriate industry trade shows.
  • Effectively analyze data to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Participate in the development, refinement, implementation, and management of the global sourcing strategy for assigned categories.
  • Assume the role of project manager for new product development within assigned categories.
  • Continually identify, assess, and recommend new suppliers.
  • Analyze bids and other data and propose actionable recommendations.
  • Conduct or participate in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize sourcing effectiveness.
  • Research and analyze the cost, capacity, and delivery history of manufacturers; ensure manufacturers can deliver products that meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Continually search for and identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin enhancement throughout the supply chain.
  • Identify and communicate issues to appropriate parties and bring them to resolution.
  • Manage ongoing vendor performance, including service, quality, and cost.
  • Monitor cost and availability trends of key cost factors and recommend appropriate courses of action, including raw materials, packaging materials, labor, and other market factors.
  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in global sourcing, including experience with manufacturing processes, quality control, and national or specialty chain retailers.
  • Working knowledge of import/export practices and manufacturing relationships, including quality control/testing processes, programs, and logistics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accomplish goals through partnerships built on mutual trust, fairness, integrity, and honesty.
  • Strong negotiation and partnership skills with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse leaders and associates across various levels and functional areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and shift focus between tasks with minimal difficulty.
  • Ability to champion change initiatives and effectively influence team members.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize internal applications.
