Pay Range: $70-80/hour + Per Diem
Job Summary
The Project Field Engineer supports the execution of a waste-to-energy facility construction project. This role serves as the technical liaison between engineering, construction contractors, and project management to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedule, and budget.
The Project Field Engineer will provide multi-disciplinary engineering support across electrical, instrumentation & controls, mechanical, and structural scopes. This individual will help manage construction activities, address contractor Requests for Information, support review or subcontracts for MEP, coordinate contractors, and support cost and schedule control to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site engineering support during construction and commissioning phases of the project.
- Coordinate with construction contractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Coordinate and where practical respond to Requests for Information..
- Identify potential design or execution issues and collaborate with engineering teams to develop practical solutions.
- Monitor contractor performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support cost control by tracking field changes, assisting with change orders, and identifying potential cost impacts.
- Assist with project schedule management by identifying potential delays and helping implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate multi-discipline work including electrical systems, instrumentation, mechanical equipment, and structural installations.
- Liase with and coordinate visits from Vendor Representatives
- Participate in field inspections, equipment installation verification, and quality assurance activities.
- Support commissioning and startup activities as systems are completed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of field activities, progress updates, and technical issues.
- Facilitate communication between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or related discipline).
- 7-15+ years of experience supporting industrial construction or large capital projects.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and structural scopes.
- Experience supporting construction execution on industrial facilities such as power plants, energy facilities, refineries, or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, field coordination, and project execution practices.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction site environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with waste-to-energy, power generation, or large industrial infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing contractors and field construction activities.
- Familiarity with cost control, change management, and project scheduling processes.
- Commissioning and startup support experience.
- OSHA safety training or similar construction safety certifications.
