Powerhouse Mechanical Operator
Location: Charlotte, NC Area
Pay: $30-$34/hour
Schedule: First Shift | 12-Hour Rotating Schedule (2-2-3)
Start Date: Immediate Openings Available
We are seeking a skilled Powerhouse Mechanical Operator to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical building systems within a large industrial manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, experience working with commercial HVAC and plumbing systems, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with facility personnel and contractors.
This is a hands-on role offering competitive pay, steady hours, and the opportunity to work with advanced facility systems and technology.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain building automation and facility management systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance activities including lubrication, belt adjustments, equipment cleaning, and system testing.
- Maintain fire protection equipment and assist with monitoring facility safety systems.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with contractors, facility teams, and vendors as needed.
- Provide clear communication regarding system conditions, maintenance findings, and recommended improvements.
- Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training, trade certification, or related vocational education preferred.
- Experience maintaining and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems and equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience using computerized maintenance or building management systems.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- State trade licenses or certifications are a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
