Role title:  Lifecycle Marketing Manager

Role summary: The Lifecycle Marketing Manager owns the planning, journey logic, testing coordination, performance readouts, and optimization recommendations for automated lifecycle programs that move SMB advertisers through the funnel, from acquisition nurture through activation, onboarding, growth, retention, and reactivation. This person works within the approved lifecycle roadmap and strategic guardrails, partnering with Marketing Ops on implementation feasibility and governance. They are accountable for clear requirements, briefs, stakeholder alignment, launch readiness, measurement, and optimization recommendations.

Core responsibilities:

  • Attend business, product, growth, and stakeholder meetings to identify lifecycle opportunities and translate them into actionable recommendations and briefs within approved priorities.

  • Own lifecycle journey planning and optimization for always-on programs, including audience logic, trigger requirements, message sequencing, testing plans, and performance recommendations. Partner with Marketing Ops on the underlying workflow setup, routing, suppression, attribution, deliverability, and governance.

  • Recommend target audiences, segmentation logic, lifecycle stage, triggers, suppression needs, and desired customer behavior based on strategic guardrails and Marketing Ops feasibility/governance input.

  • Write clear campaign/journey briefs for content, design, campaign ops, and marketing ops.

  • Submit and manage requests through content, design, and marketing ops workflows, ensuring each partner has the context needed to execute.

  • Coordinate execution of the approved lifecycle testing roadmap across subject lines, messaging, CTAs, timing, audience, offers, and journey paths.

  • Monitor performance, identify drop-offs, recommend optimizations, and continuously iterate journeys.

  • Partner with Marketing Ops to ensure lifecycle requirements are implemented in a scalable, governed way across reusable audience frameworks, workflow logic, routing, suppression, attribution, deliverability, and list health.

  • Maintain lifecycle documentation, learnings, and repeatable playbooks so knowledge is not concentrated in one person.

Profile:

  • 4-6+ years in lifecycle, marketing, CRM, growth, demand gen, or email marketing.

  • Strong segmentation, funnel, and experimentation instincts.

  • Comfortable using performance data to diagnose issues and prioritize tests.

  • Experience partnering with content, design, marketing ops, sales, and product teams in a contractor or agency capacity.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, lifecycle automation, and B2B/SMB funnels preferred.

Must-Haves

  • Experience working in a marketing automation or CRM platform (ideally HubSpot)

  • Journey mapping and lifecycle automation experience.

  • Ability to define trigger-based journeys, nurture logic, onboarding flows, reactivation flows, and suppression/fatigue rules.

  • Testing and optimization experience across subject lines, messaging, audience, CTA, timing, and journey paths.

  • Comfort diagnosing funnel drop-offs and recommending journey improvements.

  • Enough HubSpot/workflow fluency to partner intelligently with MOps and spot obvious setup or logic issues.

Nice-to-Haves

  • HubSpot workflow experience specifically.

  • Salesforce campaign/member/status familiarity.

  • Email deliverability and list health experience.

  • Experience with attribution, lead scoring, routing, or lifecycle stage governance.

  • Experience with B2B, SMB, SaaS, ads, marketplaces, or self-serve activation funnels
