Senior AI Automation Engineer / AI Engineering Lead Overview

Our client is seeking a hands-on AI engineering leader to design, build, and deploy enterprise AI automation solutions that streamline business processes and deliver measurable impact. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration, partnering directly with business leaders to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable AI-powered solutions.

This is a highly technical, individual contributor role with a clear path toward mentoring engineers, establishing engineering best practices, and helping scale the AI engineering organization.

• Lead end-to-end AI automation initiatives from discovery and solution design through development, deployment, and adoption.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business processes, identify automation opportunities, and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI applications, integrations, APIs, and user-facing tools.

• Build secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions that integrate with enterprise platforms and cloud infrastructure.

• Architect and implement intelligent agent workflows, reusable automation frameworks, and shared platform capabilities.

• Collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure enterprise-ready solutions.

• Develop technical documentation, implementation standards, and reusable playbooks that support long-term scalability.

• Mentor team members and help drive AI adoption through knowledge sharing, training, and technical guidance.

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance business outcomes.

• Extensive experience building and deploying production software across backend, frontend, cloud, and integration layers.

• Strong experience developing AI-powered applications using modern large language models and automation frameworks.

• Expertise with Python and modern web technologies, including API development and frontend frameworks.

• Experience deploying applications in cloud-native environments using modern CI/CD practices.

• Strong understanding of enterprise security, authentication, and scalable application architecture.
