Sales Coordinator
Working under the general supervision of a Supervisor, Manager, or Project Manager, the Sales Representative will support utility expansion projects by working as part of a collaborative sales team. This is a field-based position involving extensive travel, door-to-door customer engagement, and obtaining property easements to support project goals.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and enjoys interacting with property owners and customers in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct door-to-door sales and customer outreach for utility expansion projects.
- Obtain property easements from homeowners and landowners.
- Build positive relationships with customers and address questions regarding projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to achieve annual sales and project objectives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and activity records.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to complete reports and administrative tasks.
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including regular overnight stays.
- Previous sales, customer service, canvassing, or field outreach experience preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Self-starter with sound judgment, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Personal vehicle with current insurance required.
- Extensive daily driving throughout the assigned territory.
- Frequent overnight travel is required.
- Candidates must be able to initially cover travel expenses (fuel, lodging, and meals); reimbursement is provided weekly.
- The majority of work will take place in Big Rapids, Michigan, and areas north of Big Rapids.
- Candidates residing in North Central Michigan are strongly preferred due to the travel requirements.
- Comfortable working outdoors and traveling extensively.
- Excellent customer-facing and relationship-building skills.
- Organized and dependable with strong time management.
- Willing to work independently while contributing to a close-knit sales team.
- Able to meet performance goals in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
