Job Title: Assistant Electrical Detailer
Location: Brea, CA 92821 or La Jolla, CA 92037
Contract length: 12 month Contract
Pay: $33-37 per hours
We are seeking a Revit Modeler to support the design and development of high-voltage substation projects. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining 3D Revit models and producing 2D construction drawings that support engineering and construction activities. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to develop substation layouts, model equipment and supporting systems, and ensure design documentation is accurate, coordinated, and up to date.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain 3D Revit models for substation projects.
- Produce and revise 2D construction drawings and design documentation.
- Create substation layouts and model equipment, conduit systems, grounding systems, and cable routing.
- Coordinate designs with engineering teams and incorporate project changes and feedback.
- Ensure drawings and models comply with project standards and quality requirements.
- Support engineering and construction teams throughout project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and drawing revisions.
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on Revit experience; OR
- Associate degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on Revit experience; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of hands-on Revit experience.
- Associate degree in Drafting Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of Revit experience; 5+ years preferred.
- Experience using AutoCAD in a design or drafting environment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Experience supporting substation, utility, transmission, or power delivery projects is preferred but not required.
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program are not eligible for this CADD role.
- Internship experience does not count toward the required years of experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment.
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Commitment to producing accurate and reliable design deliverables.
