Location: Culver City, CA
Schedule: Fully Remote
Pay: Up to $79.70 per hour DOE

Planet Interactive is looking for a Technical Design Producer to join our well known Fortune 50 client on a 12-month contract.

The ideal Technical Design Producer will have a background in project and program management. This role will help form, refine and reinforce a point of view for automation and efficiency in the growing space of Design deliverables. 
The Technical Design Producer will help guide process efficiencies, provide additional training, troubleshooting, and advocacy for automation and efficiency solutions on an as-needed and ongoing basis.
 

Technical Design Producer Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain workflows, technical documentation, and other guides that capture the team's needs, priorities within automation, and capabilities of the existing systems.
  • Work with key partners to maintain understanding across all teams including (but not limited to) Content Design and Engineering and what is needed in terms of documentation.
  • Drill into the pain points that affect Design and Production teams from a manual responsibility standpoint and find areas to disrupt those patterns with automation.
  • Take in feature and product concepts from internal and external partners for various launches and media experiences.
  • Deliver functional requirements and statements of intent to the internal team.
  • Look for gaps and openings to bring automation into various design processes for media production.
  • Maintain various schedules and deadlines for Design deliverables, work with appropriate internal Producers, and communicate those to other Program Managers.
  • Help build, meld, and maintain an automation roadmap vision in the services space, as well as the tools and technology that power them.
  • Facilitate and advise on launching wholly or partially automated Design systems and deliverables.
  • Advise on methods and process for graduating manual deliverables to different levels of automation, all while maintaining total control when needed.
  • Contribute to trainings for new and existing workflows and tools.
  • Reconcile Engineering limitations with Content Design constraints.
  • Set up use cases for Development and User Acceptance Test sessions coordinated by Engineering Program Manager.
  • Present findings and ideas to internal stakeholders and executives.
  • Think about the visual design systemically and see where some workstreams could be automated in terms of artwork creation.  
     

Technical Design Producer Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years working with Design, Engineering, Technology and Production Teams.
  • A deep understanding and knowledge of creative technology tool stacks and workflows to find opportunities for efficiencies at scale. ]
  • A background in developing strong user cases for automating processes that draws from various data points.
  • Can see past limitations and how creative technology and processes through automation can help.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and evangelizing technical documentation including Business Requirements, Program Plans, Functional Requirements, Workflows, and prioritized Roadmaps.
  • Ability to work closely with Engineering & Operations Teams, Designers, and Design Producers in a seamless manner.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to act as an advisor on best practices as it relates to process and design, tooling, or production needs.
  • Ability to clearly articulate non-technical needs to technical audiences (and vice versa).
  • Ability to be an advocate and understand the design creation process and envision automation shortcuts that allow design teams to continue focusing on creative work without being encumbered by sheer volume across localizations and platform variants.
  • Experience working with external vendors on clear scopes of work.
  • Ability to investigate issues and clearly articulate Design’s point of view.
