Staff Accountant 
Direct Hire
Hybrid (3 days in office): San Diego, CA 92128

Pay Range: $65 – 75k

Must Haves
:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in accounting for mid- to large company, and/or public accounting
GAAP
Tenure in previous positions?

Job Summary/Description:
Responsible for the accounting, coordination and compilation of audit requests, analysis and financial reporting, as required.  Assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual management, profit and loss analytics, statement of cash flow analysis (if applicable), and financial statement reporting to various internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the roles assigned relating to monthly, quarterly and annual close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately, including journal entries and ledger maintenance activities.  
  • Assist with assigned schedules, including workpapers managed in Prosystems, ensuring relevant account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.
  • Assist in completing quarterly reporting packages, clearing of BOFC controls and coordinate receiving audit requests from other business segments.
  • Provide support to other corporate finance groups as requested.
  • Reconcile intercompany relationships and balances, including research and resolving discrepancies.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or his/her designee.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance required.
  • A minimum of 0-3 years’ experience working within an accounting department (preferably mid-size to large company), and/or in public accounting.
     
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of either US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards or International Accounting Standards. 
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated to be a highly motivated self-starter with a friendly personality and team player attitude that can become an asset to the organization. 
  • Ability to follow through on assigned tasks from start to finish, research, analyze and problem-solve.

Working Conditions:
100% of the time is spent in the office environment.  Frequent contact with the corresponding business unit members in person, by telephone, and email will be required.
