The Platform Technology group at our client  is seeking to hire a Scientist/Senior Scientist to become an integral part of the gene therapy platform development effort.  We are looking for candidates who think critically and have the desire and ability to learn new techniques.  This position requires adaptability and an ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.  A qualified candidate will have a broad technical experience in molecular biology, gene therapy, nucleic acid therapeutics, oligonucleotide therapeutics, biochemistry, physiology, and/or pharmacology. 

 


General Requirements:
  • PhD in Molecular & Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Physiology or related areas with 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, troubleshoot and interpret experiments
  • Exceptional critical thinking, data analysis, and problem solving skills
  • A desire to be part of a highly innovative company

 

Required Skills (some not all):
  • Experience with genetic (viral or non-viral), nucleic acid (DNA or RNA), or oligonucleotide (siRNA, ASO) based therapeutics
  • In vivo pharmacology including compound IV, SC, and IP dosing routes and experience with blood sampling and tissue collection
  • Standard molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, sequencing library preparation, PCR, quantitative PCR, sn-RNA-seq, SDS-Page, ELISA/MSD, in situ hybridization, and western blotting)
  • Tissue dissection, embedding, and sectioning using a cryostat and/or microtome
  • Immunohistochemistry using cell type specific and disease relevant biomarkers
  • Microscopy using epiflourescent and confocal imaging systems
  • Mammalian cell culture systems
