Job Description
Our Sanitation Supervisor will oversee the process of sanitizing of production equipment with a focus on food contact surfaces. The incumbent will be responsible for enforcing proper workplace safety with their direct reports, overseeing our Sanitation program, supporting our Food Safety program, and supervise team members to ensure completion of all assigned tasks and he overall cleanliness of the facility and production lines. The incumbent will also oversee the chemical application program in assigned areas, ensure compliance with associated documentation and effectively remove chemical residue from equipment.
Hours & Workdays
8+ hours per day, 5 days per week, ability to work various shifts/hours
Operate forklifts and other material movement equipment as needed.
Manage the chemical and sanitation program.
Engage in any critical or special situations and promptly discerns if additional resources or senior managers are needed. Provide direct leadership and direction settings to team members.
Insures corrective and preventative actions and continuous improvement processes are being utilized in manufacturing and that action plans are verified and effective.
Assist department supervisors with making utilization decisions concerning chemical, cleaning and/or design impacts on production, maintenance, quality and sanitation issues.
Undertake and complete special projects as assigned.
Responsible for periodic cleaning program development, training, execution, and tracking.
Provide technical expertise for environmental monitoring program development, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Communicate and escalate any safety, food safety/quality or vendor issues and provide support as needed.
People/skill development through training and coaching of team members
Track, report, and review the sanitation performance indicators on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
2 year Associate Degree or equivalent ( Combination of education and/or experience may be substituted)
Must have minimum 2 years previous Sanitation and Food Safety experience in the Food Manufacturing industry.
Must have minimum 2 years prior experience in a leadership role, responsible for other employees( Supervisor, Manager, etc).
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Must have great communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in English.
Must be punctual, have excellent attendance record, and be able to cooperate with others.
Must participate in all training programs.
Ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Two to Five years of related experience/or training in Sanitation.
Physical Demands
Environmental exposure- wet, cold and warm environments.
Material exposure-moving mechanical parts.
Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations.
Ability to lift/push-pull/carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time.
