Job Description

Our client is searching for a highly motivated Roadway Design Engineer to join their Mid- Atlantic Region in either their Virginia Beach, VA, Springfield, VA office or Atlanta, GA. This is a hybrid opportunity.
The ideal candidate will assist their department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design, and delivery on assigned project(s).   
 
What you’ll be doing:
  • Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans, and designs for projects
  • Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs
  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses toward completion of assigned design tasks, and direct preparation of design specifications
  • Perform quantity estimates, detailing and check calculations and drawings
  • Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

What you need to have:
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 4 – 10 years of experience in roadway design
  • EIT Certification
  • Proficient with OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Geopak
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be a brand ambassador for the company who engages in diversity and inclusion,
  • Be self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environment
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problems
  • Be able to communicate effectively- verbal and written
  • Be able to multi-task in a team environment
