Release of Information (ROI) Specialist
13 weeks contract
Onsite – Oakland, CA
Hourly: $25 - $30/hour
Vaccination Requirements: All workers must be fully vaccinated with a booster or provide an exemption
Must Haves:
RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) Cert or are eligible
Seeking candidates with experience handling and responding to subpoenas and release of information (ROI) in healthcare
Preferred:
Knowledge of EPIC is a plus
Experience using M*Modal tools is a plus
Job Summary/Description:
Duties
Performs health information quality analysis, collection, and management duties needed to organize, maintain and use patient medical records in EPIC or other records management media, including M*Modal.
Provides customer service and responds to requests, as assigned.
Information Management EPIC Quality Analysis Reviews
Identifies problems and resolves by correcting errors per procedure and forwarding issues not addressed in procedure to management
Assists physicians to complete their assigned incomplete medical records.
Facilitates physician completion of records using EPIC tools.
Demonstrates knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards governing a complete medical record, and the analytical ability to identify deficiencies and performance improvement issues in documentation practices.
Coordinates notification and suspension process and reports issues or potential for improvement and efficiency to management. Generates reports necessary to monitor record completion statistics. Provides record completion data
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skill is required
Knowledge of medical records standard of practice including, but not limited to, release of information, filing system, analysis, abstracting and information retrieval.

Graduation from HIT program, Associate's Degree, RHIT or RHIA Registration
