Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a digital accessibility project, identifying gaps, developing and executing on a plan to address compliance issues across our portfolio of applications and services where feasible. You will also oversee training initiatives for the community and IT staff. This role is critical in promoting inclusive and accessible digital experiences for our community.
In addition to managing the digital accessibility project, you will play a key role, working with key stakeholders and the team in developing a roadmap for our portfolio of IT-supported applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Digital Accessibility Project Management:
• Play a lead role in the digital accessibility project.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accessibility best practices are integrated into design, development, and testing phases.
• Develop a comprehensive digital accessibility compliance roadmap and plan for HKS-managed applications.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify accessibility gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay up-to-date with evolving accessibility standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Training and Education
• Organize training sessions and workshops on digital accessibility for the HKS community.
• Create educational materials and resources to support ongoing awareness and understanding of accessibility principles.
• As a secondary responsibility, work on creating an application roadmap for our portfolio of IT-supported applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features, enhancements, and upgrades for IT applications.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain detailed project documentation, accessibility reports, and compliance status updates.
• Generate regular progress reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing IT projects.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and Section 508.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
• Experience with software and web development processes.
• Familiarity with IT application portfolio management.
