Overview
The Project Interface Engineer is responsible for managing the necessary interactions with multiple work streams for major construction projects at the LNG plant, providing relevant expertise within the project and coordination between the various project teams and LNG Operations. The Project Interface Engineer shall:
- Manage both internal and external sources of information and interfaces according to the project scope and schedule
- Represent LNG Operations where appropriate to contractor(s), consulting companies and project teams, as appropriate to the needs of the work for all interface requirements
- Identify and define Interfaces at earliest opportunity
- Develop, track, and update an interface matrix for all tie-ins between existing plant facilities and new project installations
- Standardize and coordinate operational procedures between projects to the largest extent possible
- Initiate regular scheduled technical interface coordination meetings with appropriate participants to discuss the matrix and proposed resolutions.
- Promote clear communication between stakeholders as key to successful project delivery
- Document the request and exchange of design documents between LNG Operations and project contractors/ consultants
- Participate in project progress meetings as required
- Review, provide comments, and approve project engineering documents where there is a piping or electrical interface with existing operations
- Follow-up and compile LNG Operations comments on engineering documents to ensure compliance with specifications and minimize disruption to operations activities
- Develop an interdependency schedule for SIMOPS activities, considering plant liquefaction and vaporization needs and project shutdown requests
- Coordinate between project contractors and LNG Operations on requests for purging, isolations, shutdowns, access, investigations
- Where multiple projects are involved, coordinate external load studies and / or devise set of recommendations for improved common mechanical piping and electrical works design
Qualifications Required
- Bachelors degree in Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of experience engineering of brownfield LNG or Power or Oil and Gas plants
- Experience in planning and coordination of plant shutdown activities preferred
- Experience in a cross-disciplined engineering/operational role preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
