Pay: $70-80/hr

Overview 


Role on the client side of a transformational, first of a kind project which includes the retirement of the existing coal-fueled units; installation of new natural gas-fueled electricity generating units capable of utilizing hydrogen for 840 megawatts net generation output; and modernization of a Transmission System to Southern California. 

This position has supervisory/lead responsibility over a group of project controls personnel or functions as a technical specialist who develops advanced concepts. Supervises work of others. Responsible for overall performance management. Manages a diverse team of professionals and able to achieve successful results/or is able to function as a technical specialist developing advanced concepts. Leads project controls team on the most complex and highest risk projects. Is an integral part of the management team for project success. Collaborates with the project management leadership team to ensure project success. Identifies improvements to processes. Leads in developing staff capabilities.

Cost:
  • Leads cost control team on more complex projects through all aspects.
  • Addresses contractual requirements related to cost control.

Planning/Scheduling:
  • Leads planning and schedule preparation on more complex projects including startup planning.
  • Addresses contractual requirements related to schedule control.
  • As required by the business unit, expert in scheduling forensics.

PJC Management: 
  • Recognizes critical issues and interfaces.
  • Confers with PM team on project execution matters.
  • Participates in key risk management discussions. 
  • Participates in and may lead any potential claims issues. 
  • Manages controls functions from home office to site as appropriate.
  • Supervises subcontract administration when assigned.
  • As applicable ensures compliance with tools/processes in accordance with Procedures.
  • As applicable ensures startup planning is at the appropriate level of detail.
  • As applicable leads in shifting controls functions from HO to site.

Experience
  • At least 5 years of cost experience on the Contractor side of a project and the ability to navigate in Primavera are also required.
  • Experience serving in a Leadership role for a medium- to large-sized EPC project in both Home Office and Field preferred.
  • Prefer certificate from either PMI or AACE.
Education:
  • Prefer Master's degree or local equivalent in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree with ten or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning and Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with twelve years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning and Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office.
