Planet Interactive is looking for a Localization Project Manager to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 3-month contract. This role is fully remote and requires a natural language proficiency in Japanese.

Planet Interactive is looking for a Localization Project Manager to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 3-month contract. This role is fully remote and requires a natural language proficiency in Japanese.
Localization Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Coordinating projects across multiple timelines and deadlines.
- Working with translation vendors locally and internationally.
- Interacting with multiple stakeholders, team members, and cross-functional teams.
- Using the translated software to write and communicate QA plans.
- Supporting QA efforts in the localization lab, fixing bugs, and ultimately helping deliver high quality localized products on time in up to 40 languages simultaneously.
- Raising issues and communicating statues effectively to management.
Localization Project Manager Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of Localization Workflows, Software Development, and Software QA.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with content management databases and localization tools.
- Proven record of localization project management, testing and bug tracking.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently in a global team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal cross-functional communication skills and experience.
- Experience with planning, managing, and delivering multiple projects within very tight timeframes.
- Ability to identify and prioritize key deliverables and call out blockers, as soon as they arise, to the multi-functional partners.
- Ability to be inventive, able to handle complex situations and deadlines, have very good analytical skills, and strong aim to learn and succeed.
Localization Project Manager Preferred Skills:
- Professional fluency in Simplified Japanese.
- Exceptional translation and writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Solid proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Experience with localizing video subtitles and technical content strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with translation tools (WorldServer experience preferred) and Mac functionalities.
- Experience with a fast-paced environment and quick turn-around requests.
