Job Description
- This position provides comprehensive environmental support for large utility scale Civil work associated with Natural Gas Pipeline and Regulator Station Construction.
- Candidate will work under general supervision and will be responsible for technical work in a wide range of environmental disciplines to achieve compliance with the organizations standards and with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
- The candidate will work to support predetermined goals and objectives on multiple projects concurrently.
- Assignments will initially be manager provided and candidate will be developed into being self-initiated through collaboration with Business Unit personnel.
- Candidate will participate in investigations of environmental events and may assist in planning, design, and procedure development.
- Candidate will support construction activities related to Environmental Compliance during project implementation.
- Candidate must learn and maintain current knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and technical aspects of regulatory requirements and how they impact Company operations.
- Candidate must be able to understand and interpret construction plans, permits, specifications, and calculations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as single-point-of-contact to support environmental activities that require comprehensive knowledge in order to provide compliance solutions to construction projects.
- Provides direction and technical expertise for most complex work activities in order to comply with environmental laws, regulations and corporate requirements.
- Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice based on design documents or internal procedures.
- Interacts with management and contractors to ensure consistent and thorough implementation of Environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
Required/Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Science and 8+ years of direct work related experience in addition to degree Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Bachelors degree in Geoscience
- Ability to understand and identify Environmental Risk
- Heavy civil construction experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred licenses, certifications or registrations: CPESC, PMP, PE, PG
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of customers, management, contractors, employees, and regulatory agencies
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and experience with the ability to multi-task and manage daily priorities based on risk
Working Conditions
- This position will be in an office and field environment. Project field visits are required during all types of weather (hot, cold, wet).
